API Keys Setup

Why API Keys?

Landoxo uses external AI providers (Groq and Google Gemini) to generate store content. You provide your own API keys for two reasons:

• Privacy — Your brand data goes directly from your browser to the AI provider. Our servers never see your prompts or generated content.
• Cost transparency — Both providers offer generous free tiers. You control your own usage and costs.

Getting a Groq API Key

• Go to console.groq.com
• Create a free account (email or Google sign-in)
• Navigate to API Keys in the sidebar
• Click "Create API Key"
• Copy the key (starts with gsk_)
• Paste it in Landoxo Settings

Groq Free Tier

Groq offers approximately 14,400 requests per day on the free tier. Each Landoxo generation uses about 2-3 Groq requests (section planning + schema generation + optional repair). This means you can generate roughly 5,000+ stores per day on the free tier.

Getting a Gemini API Key

• Go to aistudio.google.com/apikey
• Sign in with your Google account
• Click "Create API Key"
• Select any Google Cloud project (or create one)
• Copy the key (starts with AIza)
• Paste it in Landoxo Settings

Gemini Free Tier

Gemini 2.0 Flash offers 15 requests per minute and 1,500 requests per day on the free tier. Each Landoxo generation uses 1 Gemini request (brand strategy). This means approximately 1,500 generations per day on the free tier.

Do I Need Both Keys?

No — Landoxo works with just one key. However, using both gives you the best results:

• Both keys (recommended) — Gemini handles brand strategy (its strength), Groq handles planning and schema (its strength). If one fails, the other is used as fallback.
• Groq only — Groq handles all three phases. Works well but brand strategy may be less nuanced.
• Gemini only — Gemini handles all three phases. Works well but may be slower for schema generation.
• No keys — Landoxo generates a local fallback schema with default content. No AI-generated copy but you can edit everything manually.

Security

Your API keys are stored in your browser's localStorage. They are never transmitted to Landoxo servers. During generation, API calls go directly from your browser to the AI provider's API endpoint via HTTPS.

If you clear your browser data, you will need to re-enter your keys.

Troubleshooting

"No API key" error

Go to Settings and verify your keys are saved. Try removing and re-pasting them.

"Groq: invalid_api_key" or "Gemini: API key not valid"

Your key may have been revoked or expired. Generate a new key from the provider's console.

"Rate limit exceeded"

You have hit the free tier limit. Wait a few minutes (Groq resets per-minute limits) or wait until the daily limit resets at midnight UTC.
